WE BELIEVE that the purpose of St. Monica School is to communicate Christ to students so that their attitudes toward others will be Christ-like.

WE BELIEVE that all students at St. Monica School should be provided an opportunity for educational growth according to their optimum potential.

WE BELIEVE that the school shares with the home, the Church and other community agencies, the responsibility for the wholesome development of the student.

WE BELIEVE that all students have a right to an atmosphere of study and disciplined responsibility to maintain this atmosphere.

WE BELIEVE that to these ends, the school should develop in students the knowledge, skills, habits, understandings, attitudes, and character traits essential for rich personal faith life--”I have come that you may have life, life in its fullness!”

WE BELIEVE that the school should assist the students to discover, in the light of their faith, theirspecific vocation to live responsibly in a community with others and to achieve responsible, contributing citizenship.

WE BELIEVE that no one should be excluded from St. Monica School on the basis of race, ethnic background or economic status.

In light of our Mission Statement, St. Monica School will:

Continue to promote a strong Catholic Identity for our school, realizing this is the primary reason parents choose this school.

Continue to pursue a well-rounded and strong academic curriculum, expecting that all students reach their full potential, in order to become responsible, capable, and caring individuals of our society. The goal of our academic curriculum is to prepare students to achieve 80% mastery on the state proficiency tests by their eighth grade.

Strive to use all possible means in educating children, utilizing parent volunteers, parish and community resources, and other sources of information and service. In addition to the basics of the curriculum, students' education will be enhanced with additional technology, music, fine arts, service projects, and the introduction to a foreign language.

Maintain a close, family atmosphere among staff, students, and parents so teachers and parents are true partners in the formation of a child.

Develop a solid financial foundation to be able to fulfill its mission, e.g.,

salaries sufficient for hiring and maintaining quality teachers and staff

professional development for staff

maintenance and improvement of facilities and equipment to provide a safe, secure environment and opportunities for fully integrating ever-new technology into a strong curriculum

serving all children regardless of economic status
