We had a great first week of school.
As you probably noticed we are working on a plant unit in Science. We have looked at the inside of lima beans. We then put a lima bean in a baggie and are hoping some will sprout and grow. We brought in many seeds to look at. It is amazing how many different kinds the students brought in. We will look at how seeds are scattered and will spend some time sorting and balancing the seeds. We will then watch how stems such up the colored water and change the color of a flower.
In Social Studies we are using a Special Newspaper to help us learn about the people and communities of Indiana,
In Math we are reviewing last years material as well as introducing the tools that will be needed for this year.

Welcome back!
I have really enjoyed meeting your child and I know we are in for a great year!
We will have computer on Tuesday afternoon.
Music and Library on Wed.
If you get the newspaper, please bring in Tues. weather map every Wed.
Bring gym clothes to school every Thurs. and Fri.
Gym on Thursdayand Friday afternoons.
We are looking at seeds in science and will plant them in baggies as well as in soil. |

Gym : Thurs: 8:15 Please have your child wear their gym clothes to class
Library: Thurs: 1:10
Gym: Fri. Students should wear their uniform to school and bring their gym clothes to change into.
Art: 1:10
Spelling lists will come home on Monday. Please watch fpr them. Tests will be on Friday unless we have a short week.
Scholastic Book orders will go home on Mondays and be due back on Fri.
